Daventry succumbed to their first league defeat of the season with Ilkeston the stronger side throughout.
Illness prior to the match ruled out a number of first team regulars which allowed full debuts for Jamie Andrews and Jack Norman.
Ilkeston started strongly with goals from Remaye Campbell and Zak Goodson to race into a first half lead with Daventry facing an uphill task.
Although Daventry got back into the game, they offered little challenge to the excellent Ilkeston side who completed the win with further goals from Charlie Wakefield and Alex Troke in quick succession at the start of the second half.
