Daventry and Histon took a piece in a match that neither team could afford to lose.
The visitors could have taken the lead in the first half with an Ed Rolph headers, but the ball went just wide after an excellent goal line clearance from Daventry’s Jeff Woodward.
The same post denied Town in the second half when first Tom Lorraine’s header clipped it, before Woodward struck the inside of it as it seemed a goal would never come.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 78th minute however thanks to a Lorraine penalty after Luke Emery was brought down.
The lead lasted barely a minute though as Andy Ballester fired home the equaliser from the edge of the area.
