Following on last Christmas’s successful food bank collection where over 70 food parcels were provided to the local community, Daventry Town are pleased to launch the Daventry Town FC Food Bank.
The Daventry Town Food Bank’s first campaign will be to support local families over the School summer holidays.
Chairman Derren Midson comments:
“We’re excited to launch our new food bank!
The Christmas food bank was a huge success; with the support of the community we were able to help 70 local families. We want to do more and have a great team of volunteers ready to get started. The food parcels will be given to families ahead of the school holidays, so we’re working with locals schools to make this happen.
As always, we’re so grateful to our community for helping us!”
How can you get involved?
The club are open 7 days a week for donations between the hours of 10am to 7pm.
In addition to being able to drop off any food packages to the club, our new first team sponsors Rollasons Solicitors LLP have kindly offered the use of their office in Daventry Town Centre, as a drop off venue for those unable to get to the club.
We have also set up a dedicated facebook page for latest news and updates. This can be visited at https://www.facebook.com/Daventrytownfcfoodbank
What are we looking for?
We urgently need donations of the following in any quantity big or small.
– Pasta & Pasta Sauces
– Tinned Food & Meat
– Tea / Coffee
– Tinned Fruit
Please do not gift any perishable food as this may go to waste.
As always, a massive thanks to the Purple Army and the volunteers behind the scenes for their efforts and support.
