Daventry Town OAP Meal

Yesterday we held a Christmas meal for local OAPs at the club which was a huge success!

We need to say a massive massive thanks to all the parents and juniors who contributed to the food collection. We also need to say a big thank you to local companies Cummins and B&M for sponsoring and providing food as well as our partners Rollasons who provided volunteers who helped set up. This is in addition to all of the volunteers associated with the club who have given up their time to support the event on the day.

Chairman Derren Midson is delighted with how the day went!

“Where do we start?? What a day!!

We must say the biggest thank you to Cummins Daventry who sponsored the event and Rollasons our chief first team sponsor who volunteered and help us set up the day to make as special as possible. We must also thank B&M for donating table chocolates and Xmas crackers.

The club can’t thank the junior parents enough for their extremely generous food donations, the chefs who prepared and cooked everything to perfection, our amazing volunteers who helped serve and Steve and Rich for being the chauffer’s all making the day a huge success!

Some of our guests hadn’t seen each other for 2 years so there was joyous emotion amongst so many, everyone left with smiles and full bellies which made the day all the more worthwhile.

Most of our guests have invited themselves back for next year already!!!

Well done to all!!”

The success of yesterday wouldn’t have happened had it not been for the kindness of our volunteer team who gave up a lot of their weekend time!

A massive massive thanks!!

As always, the club is looking for volunteers who can help the club, be it on a matchday, a couple of hours a week helping out do odd jobs etc.

If interested, please drop steve.tubb@dtfc.co.uk a mail to see how you can help!
