Town recalled Luke Emery, Adam Creaney, Kieran Fitzgerald and Tom McGowan to the starting line up. Moldovan keeper Iustin Cerga started his first UCL match of the season. Dean Lukeman was absent after picking up a knock in the Hillier Cup tie at Desborough last Tuesday.
Whilst the hosts languished in the bottom half of the table, they had inflicted a 2 0 defeat on local rivals Rugby Town.
As with all Town’s game this season, the football flowed from one end to the other. Adam Confue was the first to try his luck which went past the right hand post and not after Ross Harris fired just over the bar from 30 yards out.
Adam went close again in the 15th minute, handing an Adam Confue free kick just wide of the goal.
Tommy McGowan went into the book on 21 minutes when a Nirvana break was ended with a foul on the edge of the box. Fortunately for Town, the free kick went safely over the bar.
One minute later and Town went in front. Adam Confue played an excellent through ball to Kieran Fitzgerald went around the goal keeper, Davis Glover, and was brought down. The keeper was yellow carded and ADAM CREANEY stepped up to smash home his 6th penalty of the season.
Creaney produced a bit of his magic as he weaved across the front of goal and fired just over the bar as Town looked to extend their lead on the half hour.
Luke Emery appeared to have a good shout for a penalty as he was brought down from behind.
Luke Emery had a great chance to extend the lead when he was put through and shrugged off the challenge of the defender but Glover blocked his shot with his legs.
Luke Emery, again, went around the keeper shortly before halftime but the angle was too tight and a defender gets back to clear his lines.
Town went in at half time with a deserved lead, having created the chances to finish the match off.

Early pressure from Town won a corner. Confue appeared to be pushed to the ground but referee again waved away calls for the pen.
Nirvana started to look dangerous going forward. Adam Creaney had to clear off the line on the hour.
On 70 minutes, Jhaden Harper was unlucky to see his hooked shot come back off the crossbar with Cerga beaten.
Nirvana kept the pressure on and got the equaliser they deserved on 82 minutes when a loose ball fell to striker Suleiman Nassor to give the Moldovan keeper no chance.
Strangely, the hosts posed little threat after this and Town twice went close to getting a winner. Firstly Confue headed a Moussi free kick just wide before Emery went through but the shot went just the wrong side of the post.
