Match Report

Arron Parkinson rotated his squad to continue giving players game time. Tommy McGowan and Taylor Orosz both starting with Phil Cassidy and Kieran Fitzgerald moving to the bench.

The Swans had several familiar faces in there line up. Ollie Wilkinson who played in the Town’s 2013 FA Cup trip to Chesterfield almost 5 years ago along with Tom Liversedge and Damien Herbert who both played for Town during the UCL Division 0ne Championship season of 2016/17. No place in the line up for recent signing Izale McLoud.

It was a fantastic start for Town with a fantastic goal to match. Pagnell were on the attack when the ball cleared up to Luke Emery on the halfway line. He held the ball up well as the Orosz brothers sprinted out from the back. Emery found Jordan who in turn split the defence with a perfect pass to TAYLOR OROSZ who took one touch before firing into the far corner of the net past Osborn.

Newport Pagnell were passing the ball well but anything in the final third of the pitch was comfortably dealt with by Captain Ross Harris and his well-organised defence.

Town were always looking dangerous on attack and extended their lead on 28 minutes.  Good approach work by Adam Confue and Jordan Orosz and they found TAYLOR OROSZ who strikes home his and Town’s second into the same corner of the net.

Just four minutes later and it was 3 0. Adam Confue is loving his football and he found LUKE EMERY inside the box who held off two players to finish from close range.

Luke Emery nearly had his second shortly before halftime as his shot cannoned down off the underside of the bar to bounce clear.

With the match effectively over, the second half never really got going for Town.

Dom Lawless pulled a goal back for Newport Pagnell just before the hour mark however the result was never really in doubt.

Taylor Orosz almost got a much deserved hat-trick however Mark Osborn blocked his effort with his chest.

Taylor Orosz was given a yellow card for kicking the ball away which prevented any chance of his hat-trick as he was replaced shortly afterwards

Tommy McGowan was unlucky to see his shot just clear the bar after an Adam Creaney corner.

Town now move 8 points clear at the top of the table although Rugby Town and Pinchbeck United both have 2 games in hand. Those clubs play each other on the 17th November.

Town travel to Boston Town and Peterborough Northern Star before their next home fixture against Desborough Town on the 24th November.
