Match Report

Adam Confue was recovering from a knock picked up in Tuesday’s victory over Newport Pagnell so Phil Cassidy started his 100th match for the Town. Kieran Fitzgerald was feeling unwell so was named amongst the subs. Adam Moussi completed his move to Newport Pagnell Town during the week and made his debut for the Swans v Pinchbeck United.

The first half was played in torrential rain following 1 minute’s silence for Remembrance Day.

Town were on the attack from the start. Two early corners after Taylor Orosz and Dean Lukeman both had shots well saved by Travis Portas.

Town’s early pressure was rewarded in the 6th minute when TAYLOR OROSZ picked up the ball 30 yards out and his strike flew into the corner of the next with Portas routed to the spot.

Corey Newman was cautioned shortly afterwards for a crude lunge on the Town’s goal scorer as he went down the right wing.

Harry Dean was also cautioned shortly afterwards after a tackle from behind on McGowan. Dean was substituted shortly afterwards and replaced by Ollie Pinnar

Luke Emery had a great chance to extend the lead but the keeper saved well as Emery attempted to go around him.

Boston were struggling to get the ball out of their half and Town had several chances to extend their lead.

Their one and only chance came from a corner on the half hour which caused a minor scare as the ball went right across the front of the goal.

Dan Childs picked up a knock down in the box but his effort went just over the bar

A long clearance from the ever-improving Rico Alexander after he won the ball back found Luke Emery. He picked out Taylor Orosz’s run but the strikers shot went over the bar.

Phil Cassidy had two efforts just before half time, the first one was blocked and the follow up went just wide

The first half had been a one sided affair and had Town taken their chances, they would have been out of sight.

The hosts looked to be more of a threat in the second half but Ross Harris had the first chance when the ball broke to him after a Town free kicked but again the ball went over the bar.

Boston equalised in the 56th minute when Marcel Chipamaunga got round the back of the Town defence and his cross found Robert Raducan for an easy tap in. This was Boston’s only real attempt at goal all afternoon.

Tom McGowan was again subjected to another foul from behind and he was cautioned for reacting. Substitute Pinnar was yellow carded and shortly afterwards was substituted himself after another poor challenge led to a lengthy talking to from the referee.

Luke Emery did have the ball in the net in the 65 minute but he was adjudged to have been offside.

Some great build up play led to Dan Childs having a shot but the keeper blocked his effort.

It didn’t seem to be Town’s day when McGowan’s excellent ball to Taylor Orosz and the striker’s fierce drive was heading for the top corner until Portas tipped the ball over the bar.

Ross Harris had a header from another corner which went agonisingly across the goal with Phil Cassidy nearly getting a touch.

10 minutes from the end and full back Dan Childs was replaced by GREG ANAYIOTOS and within 30 seconds the young Striker had picked a loose ball in the box and smashed the ball home.

Adam Creaney picked up a yellow card seconds from the end as he pulled Corri Borbelly back. The free kick was cleared and the referee blew for full time.
