Match Report

Creaney’s Ninth Penalty Keeps Town on Track.

Adam Confue returned to the starting line up with Tom McGowan moving to the bench alongside Taylor Orosz who returned after serving a three match ban.

Chenecks arrived in 15th place but with a team many believe are in a false position.

It was fresh but pleasant afternoon which start on a sombre note with a minutes silence following the sad events at Leicester City last weekend.

Town started brightly as you would expect from a top of the table team who have scored 12 goals in the last 3 matches.

Barely 5 minutes were on the clock when Luke Emery held the ball up before. playing an inch perfect pass into the stride of JORDAN OROSZ took one touch to round the keeper Jack Taylor before putting Town one up.

Just a minute later and Dan Quigley nearly put through his own net as his attempted clearance was well saved by Taylor.

Jack Taylor produced another stunning save by tipping Confue’s long range effort over the bar after some more excellent build up play by Town.

Chenecks had a great chance when the referee awarded a free kick on the edge of the penalty area. The wall blocked the initial shot however the ball fell kindly to Bradley Williams. His shot was saved by Cerga but the ball fell for Jake Naoy to tap in the equaliser on 37 minutes.

A quickly taken corner at the start of the second half almost put Town back in front. Creaney’s cross was met by centre half Rico Alexander at the near post but the ball flew across the front of goal and just wide.

Captain Ross Harris who was cautioned in the first half was pleading his innocence after a challenge was deemed to be a free kick by the referee. Arron Parkinson decided to replace Harris with Joe Henderson on 65 minutes with Taylor Orosz also replacing Kieran Fitzgerald shortly afterwards.

Taylor Orosz picked up on a defensive slip and pulled the ball back for Luke Emery but the striker’s shot just cleared the bar.

Taylor Orosz had a shot charged down by a defender and the referee turned down Town’s appeals for a penalty for handball.

Jordan Orosz was brought down in the box minutes later and this time the referee pointed to the spot. ADAM CREANEY smashed home his 9th penalty of the season to put Town back in front on 77 minutes.

Nine minutes later and Town made sure of the points when TAYLOR OROSZ’s shot from 25 yards out nestled in the corner of the net.

In the first minute of additional time, TAYLOR OROSZ got his second and Town’s fourth after going through and giving Jack Taylor no chance.
